火腿隊大谷翔平在季後挑戰賽狂飆165公里再次成為話題，連美職學長達比修有都在推特上寫下，「大谷最快球速一年增加3公里，接下來再訓練的話就可以飆出168公里。(笑)」

大谷的確了不起，竟然可以在季後賽又更新自己所保持的日職球速紀錄，況且這三球165公里速球，也讓人見識到他的威力十足。

本季完整以二刀流打者與投手身分出賽，打者部分，打擊率3成22，22轟，投手部分10勝4敗，防禦率1.86。

大谷認為平價訂房去年球季後的「肉體改造」有收到效果，也是透過達比修有的建議下，體重增重獲得成效。

不過大谷的成長遠超過前輩想像，他未來的確有前進美職大聯盟的本錢。
